In this post we provide you with a summary of one of the printing techniques preferred by our clients: screen printing. We will explain why it is one of the favorites and why we think you will love it too.
Why use screen printing as a textile printing method?
For those who are thinking of creating their own custom garments, the most important thing is to know the main advantages of this type of textile printing. In this part of the post we wanted to list the different advantages:
Print quality with Screen printing in Dubai
One of the most important characteristics of screen printing is the fact that it can be used to create high-quality designs. The technique allows for extremely vibrant and highly accurate colors, which means it’s a great way to make your logo stand out from the crowd. This quality is difficult to replicate with other printing techniques. For example, other techniques such as digital printing use 4 kinds of colored ink in small dots to create a particular image, suggesting that its quality will not be the same. While with screen printing any type of graphic or image can be effectively detailed, even using photographs.
Shelf life:
Screen printing is also a winner in this regard, as it provides long-lasting prints. The composition of the ink used allows a strong fixation to the material. This means that the quality of the printed design lasts between washes for a long time. It’s a great option for companies that want logo shirts or work uniforms.
Versatility:
The T-shirt is one of the most popular garments, but not the only one. One of the most impressive aspects of screen printing is that it allows you to print on almost anything. Plastic, cotton, metal, glass, wood, and even in three-dimensional products, screen printing can be used on all these materials. It doesn’t matter if you want to print your logo on a black T-shirt or a white cap, screen printing can achieve high-quality results on a wide variety of materials of different shapes and sizes.
Value for money:
Unfortunately for individual or small orders, screen printing can be a bit more expensive than other printing techniques. This is due to the need for preparation prior to printing. A display must be created for each color that the design includes, which means more preparation time. However, for companies that prefer to order in large quantities it is the best option. The more products you need, the cheaper the order will be. Always keep in mind that once the cost of the screens has been covered, large runs are very well priced.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Despite advances and optimization in technology, the current screen printing technique remains the same. The technique can be applied both in the manual version and in the automated version; therefore it is not uncommon for it to be used professionally and even amateurishly, by the designers themselves.
To use this printing technique, we need to make a screen that acts as a template for a particular design. This screen consists of a silk mesh stretched over a frame coated with an emulsion sensitive to UV rays. Next, special lighting is used to solidify the chemicals around the design. The light hits the design and the chemicals around the graphic begin to break down. Now the garment comes into play. Imagine that you are printing on a t-shirt, you have to place the shirt on the screen and the ink is transferred from the screen to the garment using a rubber roller. To finish, the screen is carefully removed so that your custom jersey is finally ready.
